First Fundraiser!

Our first fundraiser to get the funds we need to file the application for our 501(c)(3) status is live on FundRazr! Click the following link to drop a few bucks to help us on our way. If you can’t donate, go to the donation page below and share it on any social media you can. That also helps a ton!

MFCU Adopt-An-Organization

I’ll jump right in with the post from MFCU’s blog:

Our Dartmouth Branch in Midland is trying to decide what organization to donate money to that they have been raising all year to help those in need. During the year, the staff holds bake sales, jean days, and other fundraisers in order to raise money and be able to donate the proceeds locally. Help us decide which local organization should recieve the donation. Stop into the Dartmouth Branch, and cast your vote by placing a sticker next to your favorite organization. The organization with the most stickers by Dec. 16th will be the winner of the Adopt-An-Organization funds! The choices are:

Diaper Alliance
Murphy’s Meals
Midland Humane Society
Aarons Gifts From Home

It would be a huge help to us if you could go and vote! Thank you to everyone that has supported us so far. We’re off to a great start!

Next Meeting

Our next meeting is on Wednesday, November 13th! We’re meeting at 7:00 PM in the same place as last time, which is on the lower level of Trinity Lutheran Church. Our meetings are open to the public, so if you’re interested in what we’re doing or you want to find out how you can help, we’d love to see you there!

First Post!

Hello everyone, and welcome to Murphy’s Meals!

As listed in our About info, we’re a local organization looking to provide backup funding for school systems in the area so no student goes without a meal. We’re currently in the process of obtaining our 501(c)(3) status, and when we do we’ll begin the fundraising process.

We’re also in the midst of ironing out solid numbers for our long-term goals, and when those are set we’ll write a new post outlining everything for full transparency.

We’d like to say thank you to everyone for the huge initial interest in our project, and an even bigger thank you to everyone that has volunteered their time to help so far. Together, we’ll make this dream a reality and our community’s kids will be all the better for it.
